General:
Perennial herb from a rhizome; stems erect, 40-80 cm tall, branched, 4-angled, densely felted with white, woolly hairs.

Leaves:
Opposite, lanceolate to oblong, 5-10 cm long, narrowed at the base, the margins toothed, the teeth mostly hidden by the dense hairs.

Flowers:
Inflorescence a dense, white-woolly spike; corollas tubular, purple, 12-14 mm long, woolly-hairy; calyces tubular, the teeth hidden by the dense hairs.

Fruits:
Nutlets, 4 clustered together.
